Gear Cutting

Our gear work may start with a drawing, but often doesn’t. We manufacture parts just as readily from a sample or a worn part, working back to the original design intent.

Precision Machining

We run both CNC and manual machines — CNC where complexity or repeatability justifies the higher setup cost, and manual for repairs and one-off parts. Having both lets us pick the most cost-efficient method for each job.

Machined Parts

  • Gear & sprocket blanks

  • Shafts

  • Couplings

  • Threaded parts

  • Taper fits

  • Other forms on request

We’ve machined parts ranging from shafts and couplings to CNC milled chicken nugget shape cutouts.

We also work on and create parts for assemblies in industrial applications, including wire pulling, packaging, food processing and others.

From Our Work

Size

We cut spur and helical gears up to 6 feet in diameter.

Materials

We work most often in alloy and carbon steels, stainless, bronze, brass, and aluminum. We also work with cast iron, plastics and other materials when a job calls for them. Common grades include 4140 and 8620 in alloy steel, 1045 in carbon steel, 303/304/17-4 in stainless, and aluminum bronze for worm wheels.

Quantity

Most jobs are a single part or a small batch, made to order. Because setup drives the cost on small quantities, we’ll often talk through whether a few spares are worth cutting at the same time.

Our jobs start with a conversation.
